Writing in Stereo

Writing In Stereo II

The latest installment in the Writing In Stereo program focuses entirely on broadcast journalism.  These eight lessons were the foundation of teacher Douglas Potter's Writing/Reporting for Broadcast curriculum for the first twelve years of the program.  After a student mastered these, he or she was ready to move on to work in the studios.

The actual lessons (listed below) appear in the blog beginning August 22, 2010.

This curriculum prepares Beginning Writing/Reporting for Broadcast students for all writing and reporting tasks commonly required here at Warrior Radio. Although there are only eight lessons, students spend most of one semester working on these. And mastering the concepts can take two years.
  • Lesson One - The Reader
  • Lesson Two - Announcement Phoner
  • Lesson Three - Voicer
  • Lesson Four - Newspaper Rewrite
  • Lesson Five - The School Angle Phoner (School source)
  • Lesson Six - The School Angle  Phoner (Off-campus source)
  • Lesson Seven - The Wraparound
  • Lesson Eight - The Live Interview
