WiS Lesson 7F Notes

The original Writing in Stereo was published online back in the late 1980's.  Its purpose was to apply creative radio dramatics or broadcast journalism to all aspects of the teaching of high school English.  Each lesson included a lesson plan and notes.  I'm sharing these with you here. Notes (VII.F) The sidebar is another way to exercise that imagination. Stories have many angles. The news itself is just the basic skeleton of the societal event. The people involved and the people it affects are other aspects. A simple story of a dance can inspire investigation and commentary on school dances in general. "Why are there so few of them?" "Why aren't they the events they once were?" What other issues does the story inspire? How can we explore those issues? Who do we talk to get some answers to our questions ... our listeners' questions?
